Benefit Auctions

The MoparStyle Auctions occur in February (two 1-15 & 15-28) and another two in October (1-15 & 15-31). In 2003, we did not have enough participation to have an auction February 15^th – so it was delayed until March 1^st.

Revenue from the auctions and the XtraStyle contributions go towards paying for the expenses of this board – the server, software to run it and the contract support being the largest expenses. The surplus has been used to Sponsor Monte’s car (promotion), the photo album software, the portal, and a few other this and that’s. In the future, surplus may be used for magazine ads; grab bags and banners at MoparStyle sponsored events; a tent at the national events; etc. However, MoparStyle is far away from having the funds to do more than think about that right now. XtraStyle donations help and are greatly appreciated – but with the exception of January renewals for those without Lifetime status, we average only one a month any more.

The best way to generate the revenue required to maintain MoparStyle and promote it the way we want are the auctions. In addition to the good values offered to the members, the vendor receives Good Will, and MoparStyle potentially could receive enough revenue to take advantage of the many suggestions (all of which cost money) to promote MoparStyle that we receive each week. Finally, the participation of the bigger Mopar Vendors in these auctions, in itself, helps with the promotion of MoparStyle when people are told of the auctions and register to bid.

If you are a vendor of anything of interest to our members (does not have to be a Mopar part or accessory) – I ask you to consider donating one of you products for the next auction. We will do our best to promote your product and company during the auction – with a link back banner to your web site. Additionally, those vendors making a product or service donation exceeding $250 in retail value – will receive a complimentary linking banner ad. Vendors can choose any available page on THE MAIN SITE, THE TECHNICAL SITE, or THE RACING SITE. Use the below form should you be interested in helping.

Auction items can include: restoration parts, tools, stuff for the garage, racing parts, cleaning products, books, computer stuff, memorabilia, a high dollar discount off an expensive product (should be equal to at least 25% of the product or service), gift certificate, or any other product or service a car guy would buy.
