  • Devo for October 24

In English folklore a story is told of a child of one of Britain’s noble families, was stolen from his house by a chimney sweep. The parents spared no expense or trouble in their search for him, but it was in vain.

A few years later the lad happened to be sent by the one who kidnapped him to sweep the chimneys in the very house from which he had taken while too young to remember it. The little fellow had been sweeping the chimney of one of the bedrooms.

He was exhausted from his labors, and forgot were he was, went to sleep on the clean bed.
The lady of the house happened to enter the room. At first she looked in disgust and anger at the filthy boy that was soiling her bed. But all at once she recognized in the expression of the little dirty face her son, and in a moment she grab up the child in her motherly arms. At last her lost boy was home.

So it is when a person comes to Christ there is a great celebration, do you need to come back to Christ?
