    Right with God
Thanks to online banking, barely anybody actually reconciles a checking account anymore. You know, instead of just making sure you have enough in your account, you make sure your bank account is right, that your entries match the bankís entries.

Because of the diminishing use of the word, it might be tempting to overlook how oftenófive times in the following four versesóthe apostle Paul uses some form of the word reconcile.

ďTherefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting menís sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christís ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christís behalf: Be reconciled to GodĒ (2 Corinthians 5:17-20).

Maybe today you donít feel reconciled. You donít feel like your life is right. You donít feel like your life matches Godís expectations.

Isnít it good news then that God isnít all that concerned about your feeling; he cares about fact. The fact is that by sending Jesus, God reunited us. When God looks at your account, he sees Jesusí numbersóand you are reconciled.

Thereís one more fact. We now get to tell others. Just like Paul, go out and implore peopleóbeg peopleóto be reconciled too.
