    Default eBay Tools For Winning

Don't spread this around -- but the best way to win eBay auctions for the stuff you want at the best price -- is to use an automated Sniper.

I use Firefox for my browser and then installed the addons:

    • Firefox Companion for eBat 1.6.10
    • Myiebay Firefox extention

    Addon search for them

To snipe you go to the page of the item you want to win, and then use the Myibay addon for the top dollar you want to pay. leave your browser open, and 6 seconds before the end of the auction -- your bid is automatically placed.

The companion keeps track of the stuff you are bidding on or watching

I'll have to try this as I always lose the item at the last minute. The flip side is the sniper almost always pays more than I can get it for buying it outright someplace else.

I was bidding on a set of fender flares for my truck...they're $200 from the dealer, $150 shipped from a dealer selling them online. A dealer was selling them and was adding $25 to ship them I bid a max of $125 ($150 with shipping, but they were local to where my aunt lives and I was going to have her pick them up for me). 2 snipers got in and ran them up over $215 in the last seconds...add $25 shipping that's $240 for a $200 set of fender flares. People need to pay attention to what their bidding on..LOL

    2 thoughts....
If I really want something, I'll hit the 'confirm bid' button, about 3 seconds before the auction ends. Usually works most (but not all ) of the time.

And the second???? Bid on things when EVERYBODY else is doing something else, Black Friday, New years party, Superbowl. Nobody is watching the item, except...you. (doesn't always work, but the odds are better)

I like the bid sniper as I don't have time to drop everything and watch the last 5 minutes of an auction. I just set the sniper with the highest I want to pay -- and if I get it -- I get it.

That's a good idea, How much does Auction Sniper cost to use? Just curious, I don't by that much.

I open up 2 pages. One with the highest amount I will pay on the confirm now page and keep it minimized while I watch the seconds count down on the item on another open page. About 3-4 seconds before the end I'll click the minimized button and click the confirm now button as quickly as I can. I have won 95% of the items that way and have been doing it for over 11 years.
On one occasion I was the highest bidder at the last second. Somehow, my name was removed and another bidder had won the auction AFTER the time had run out. I never did figure that one out. I complained to eblab but to no avail.
