I understand the vender ..money thing.. and that about 11 or 12 years ago the tour bombed on the west.. I've read most of the post on the subject.... Especially the ones Alan...kidcadillac.. and Bucky writes....Year One hasn't had one of their events so maybe they will put something together.

There just isn't enough people close together to support the Tour out west sadly.

Well here we are ladies and gentlemen. One week til the MoPowered Tour.

    A few updates....

I am having a lot of people interested in the dinner on Friday. LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE COMING. I need to talk to the people there and let them know. We are planning on hitting up the Union Wood Shop around 3pm that way we can do the cruise in Mt. Clemens.

We're still working out the “GroupMe” program.

The official driving directions are posted, as well as the breakdown on daily events with Hot Rod. I will be going over the directions this weekend and making “adjustments” for the MoPowered Tour. So expect a few more emails over the coming week.

Also a few mentioned that they would like to get together on Saturday. We will meet at the WPC Museum @ 3pm on Saturday. I have attached a 2 for 1 coupon. The museum closes at 5 so that should allow people to go around and view everything.

Below is the day by day breakdown WITH UPDATES.

We will leave the diner at 7:30. Get to the diner at whatever time you feel comfortable as to leave by 7:30. It should take us about 2 hours to get to Mid-America.

After you check in at Mid-America, DO NOT EAT THERE!!!!!!Head right around the corner, it is the first Mopar stop at the Flatland Motor Club (All Mopar Guys) 804 East Rickleman Ave, Effingham, IL 62401. There will be a bunch of Mopars there including the tribute 64 Petty Race car with real Petty Hemi engine, recently seen in Mopar Collectors Guide. Also there will be shop tours, running Hemi's on stands and much more. Do not follow your GPS, it will take you to the wrong place. There is a map attached to this email to follow.

THERE IS FREE FOOD at the Flatland Motor Club , so DO NOT EAT at Mid-America.

We will be leaving there at 12:00 to head over to Performance Plus, 1511 U.S. Hwy 50 west, Odin,IL 62870. A Mopar restoration shop. They will have a group of awe inspiring Mopars, including the famous 71 Hemi Cuda Convertible tribute that has won numerous awards, been to SEMA, MCACN, and even appeared on SpikeTV's Power Block with Courtney Hansen.

We will leave Performance Plus at 2:30 to get to Gateway Int. Raceway with time to check in and go through the show. We want to try to get a good line of Mopars coming into Gateway and get video of us rolling in together for MoprTV.

Afterwards some of us will be heading to, Pappy's Smokehouse, 3106 Olive St. St Louis, MO 63103. It sounds like a interesting place and the reviews for it are good. This is just a suggestion and by no means a requirement.

    A few small updates.

We have a few people coming to Friday's dinner. LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE COMING. I need to talk to the people there and let them know. We are planning on hitting up the Union Wood Shop around 3pm that way we can do the cruise in Mt. Clemens.

The “GroupMe” program works. Just please, do not reply to the messages that we send. Your replies get forwarded to everyone in the group. And some do not have text messaging plans. If you have any questions, you can email me at this email address, or call me at 847-606-3813.

Still working on the official driving directions... wow there are a lot of turns.

Also a few mentioned that they would like to get together on Saturday.

We will meet at the WPC Museum @ 3:30 pm on Saturday. I have attached a 2 for 1 coupon. The museum closes at 5 so that should allow people to go around and view everything. After they close we will probably hang around for a bit then head to dinner.

ALSO, Russ's Drive In restaurant in Muskegon is closed on Sundays. We will instead be going to Dog N' Suds Drive in (much cooler IMO) just down the street (address below). I hope to be getting there around 6pm after the USS Silversides.

Dinner on Friday @ Union Woodshop has been moved back an hour to 4 PM. They are not open at 3!

Also we might be changing the location of Breakfast on Saturday June 9th. They are not open at 7 am.

On the directions, when we leave Performance Plus in Odin, IL we will be making a RIGHT out of the driveway.

Other then that we are good to go. I'll be leaving Chicago at 5 pm. See you all here shortly.

Herd it rained quite a bit more than last year.. Tell ya what.. I think they would get more participants if they started on the 8th of June.. That way my kids would be out of school and could all go.. I would drive the truck...the wife would drive the Pontiac Banshee..and my 16 yr old would wheel his Camaro.. Next year I would have another starting to drive so what better place for experience and a story for him to say he learned to drive on the HRPT

where was everyone in Champaign this year? I went down for the day and didn't see any of ya. there were a few Mopars but like most shows not many.
I had heard Muskegon the day before had 5000+ cars. I doubt I saw 500 at Champaign. though for the cruise home north on I 57, there were some nice ones still headed south.. I got to rantoul on the way home (15-20 mi north of Champaign and... blue sky the rest of the way home.

It the day before the actual start, and 20 minutes in Champaign. That's it. Otherwise it was perfect weather the whole time. You can see in my blog below when it rained.

And we got into Champaign real late with the MoPowered Tour. We were caught by Hot Rod and we helped them with some videos and photography. Sorry we missed you Don.

my wife and I went over to houlihans and had an early lunch (across the street from where the PT cars were staged) when we walked over about 11:45 there were literally 4 cars in the lot and 8-10 came in as we made our way over. when we were done eating the 1at lot was about 60% full; the 2nd lot to the east that was also obviously cleared out for the anticipated crowd didn't have a single car in it yet....
we hung out til 2:30-3ish and headed home. Within 20 mins of heading north on 57, I ran into blue sky the rest of the way home. from that point I saw probably 75 cars that I'd guess were part of the Tour mostly GM with a few Fords and 1, late 60s B body being the lone Mopar I saw on the cruise home. We were in the Wrangler and at taht point we were glad we had not taken the top off like we were going to the day before.
