That sucks! I need to do my interior on the Runner. After hearing all this I dont think i will go to legendary.
My father and I have a 1969 Charger with a C6F Bayou Green Vinyl interior. So it's in the paint shop right now getting ready for primer and paint. So we ordered a "complete" interior from legendary. I ordered a full set of dash pads, all the seat covers, carpet (including console carpet), seat belts, headliner, vinyl top, and all side panels, upper door panels, trunk mat. I also ordered a pair of hog ring pliers and 200 hog rings, jute divider and insulation, and sail panel cardboard. So this is a 1969 Charger with an automatic and a console, this is all they need to know besides color (obviously). We talked with a woman (whose name I do not remember) and she said that I will get all the stuff on the 20th of December. So the 20th of December comes, I wait all day... What the hell! no UPS truck. So a phone call later reveals NOTHING has been shipped and the interior is still being assembled. The woman then tells us "oh I meant it was supposed to BE SHIPPED OUT" on the 20th. I'm thinking "wait a minute, how can the stuff be shipped out if you said you guys are still working on it?" So then she tells us, she can have what is done shipped. we told them "no ship it all at once". So this woman says it will ALL arrive next month on the 20th. So the 20th of January comes and nothing, so we call and the woman isn't there. We contact her by email and we find out she is not going to be in for 2 or 3 weeks. The guy we talked to had no idea who we were or that we had even placed an order. So around the beginning of February we get a box. Inside a vinyl top (not in plastic or a wrapper) a set of sail panel cardboard with cheap-ass velcrow to hold it in place and the pliers and hog rings. So that's it for a while. Just a couple days ago, I get home and about 10 boxes are sitting by my door. All from Legendary, so I open them to take inventory of what we ordered. I see a trunk mat box, I open it... GRAY!...we ordered TAN. Also we get a set of rear window moldings for the inside. HERE is the kicker: We call up the woman who promptly tells us WE DON"T KNOW WHAT WE'RE TALKING ABOUT AND THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A CHARGER REAR WINDOW AND A CORONET REAR WINDOW. So I'm thinking" Who the HELL is she to tell ME I don't know MY Mopar", and she INSISTS there is no difference, but want pictures to see. Also I'm thinking " Why the HELL should I take pictures for someone who KNOWS more than I do? It ISN"T my responsibility to prove to them the difference in a product THEY sell." In this shipment, the headliner was not sealed in plastic, it was not damaged, that is just not professional. Also the seat foam was not in its original bags, the upper door pads were not there. Also on that note, this woman told us that there are NO Charger medallions in the UDP's and when we called her previously, she said they were included. Our dash pads, with the exception of the top one did not make it. I was under the impression when she told us the were ALL green that included the top one too. NOW she wants us to ship it back to them to take it to Kolor Korrect, at OUR expense when we were lied to! The seat belts are SHIT (sorry to be vulgar and blunt) but that is the truth! The webbing is narrow, the nylon is thinner than the orginals, and it is blatantly a different color that the interior, the buckles are weak and chromed. If I haven't mentioned anything, I'm either too pissed to remember or it hasn't come yet in OUR ONE SHIPPMENT WE HAD SPECIFIED! Now after my rant, I'm curious as to, if anyone else has had such a negative experince with Legendary.
see if ya can white pages locate Marina Auto Interior in West Carrolton Ohio ( real close to my daughter's house even), I dealt with them for YEARS, they did the entire interior for my resto 69 Z28 302ci cross ram car, my 54 Plymouth Plaza, and my 55 Savoy. I kept going back because it always looked like factory original I'll see if I can get the number from my daughter in case you can't find it. Good Luck

Well my father and I have sunk about $3000 with Legendary and I will never think so highly of them again. I might mention that after we contacted them, this woman, told us we would get free shipping and 15% off for our troubles, but we got charged for shipping anyways, go figure, guys.
Hemi67s try these guys on monday
Marina trim 937-384-0902 OR

Did they want up front deposit or any money? Whenever I'm asked for it, I walk away, it shows an insolvent business that has no operating capital. not meaning to scold or say I told ya so, just trying to help. I just sent hemi67s a couple numbers of places in Ohio that I used to deal with and never had a gripe. Hope I kinda mighta rescued ya a little.

Well my father and I handle the restoration in where he finances and I do the homework on what is correct, and proper. On how to, and etc. I believe they wanted it up front. I understand what you mean, my down fall was believing that all the MCG articles that mentioned Legendary were all euphoric worlds of perfectness. I'm kinda naive since this is my first resto. I also am kinda parnoid that some people are out to screw us cause IT IS our first time. Glad to see the rest of the hobby trying to help, and that they care. I'll take it into mind the numbers you mentioned and use them if I need another interior, cause its kinda late for redemption.
You can't take the Mopar Magazines (or the others for that matter) for their word. They make their way with their advertisers and not the people who buy the magazines.
It is definitely better to put a post in here and see who chimes in with a source and research them from there.

Almost sounds like someone there is trying to branch off and start up their own business and is getting supplies from China while stealing customers from Legendary....

I bought a package tray for my 72 satellite and it was short about 1 inch from the original. When I called they said they never had that complaint. I know mine was the original it had speakers cut in and I hated that so I replaced it. The color and quality were good as far as looks, but I had to fill the sides with wide black tape under it to cover the void. You really have to look to see it and it still looks much better with the factory style speaker slots.
I bought material through a local dealer, did not have any problems except for the trunk mat. Was not anywhere near what it was supposed to be. Cut was way off, they claimed that it was cut from original dies. The dealer returned it and got me a blank uncut piece and I cut my own. Of course I still haven't cut it.
I just don't get all the excuses. "we've never had that complaint before" and on an on. My return reply "well then, I'm the first and can you please fix the problem". I don't give a damn it they've never had that complaint before. All I know is it doesn't fit and I paid for one that is supposed to. I know these cars vary in tolerance but 1"!? I bought a new tail trim for a 70 Challenger years back and it was the full length piece that incorporated the quarter trims and covered the area down to the tail lights. I bought it for my nice Challenger but it was a 1/4" too wide for the car. Now this car had never been wrecked and was still in like new condition. Just out of curiosity, I stuck it up on my other Challenger...a 70 vert needing full restoration and it fit! IRRC, the rag top had been built in California and the hardtop was built in Hamtramck.

That's a shame -- Legendary use to have a great reputation
Like I said, It's my first restoration and I an naive. So obviously this was my first (and unfortunaely) last dealing with Legendary. It's a shame that the companys don't care about the little guy anymore, I know it's not the days of the "Mom and Pop" store, it's actually a damn shame.

I also agree, that you are right on the magazines, like I said, I was wrong to believe in such a flawless rep. Well better to find out late than never. I'm happy with the quality of the top and the materials, Well I guess I gotta see what it'll be like once I get ready to put her back together.
It seems that this lack of quality has had the s*** hit the fan. Right now, It's off subject but this is just another blow in my life when I've had part of it implode on me. I guess I just need to vent. I really hope the fit is better than the initial impression
It's the car's birthday today too. Imagine... 42 years ago, the Charger rolled of the line with a complete interior I could only DREAM about and instead I gotta deal with headaches.

I can only imagine how disappointed you are. When you expect the best and end up with that kind of product, it sux. Hope you can make it work for you somehow or the other. Good luck with it.
