Question a604 TRANSMISSION INTERCHANGING

Tranny died in our Caravan, 98 3.3,, 180.000+ miles

I have found (well, a lead on one anyway) locally a transmission, but not sure what year just yet. What model years will swap out?

Only another 1998 3.3 minivan is going to be a direct interchange per the interchange manuals. A 3.8 transmission from 1998 should fit though the final gearing may be slightly different.

Supposedly the biggest difference between the years is the TRS (transmission range sensor) connector changing. Anything before early 1996 won't work as it used a PRNDL switch instead of the TRS.

So,,,,, a tranny from 96 or so would work in a pinch? I think this one's from a 98 or 99, but hasn't been confirmed.
