I've seen a few in drag racing. I don't know a hole lot about the combo.
I hope some one could chime in on it.
Thanks Brian

It's a serious race motor. 48 degree roller cam (stock LA/A/Magnum is 59 degree) I am thinking that the P7s are the Hemi small block heads. Need a P7 intake, special cam, special valve train, but it should be good for a whole lotta power.

Thanks Brian

Nope, I haven't been.

I think the P7s are pretty wacky and require special blocks, but beyond that it evens out.

It would be kind of fun to build a from scratch P-7 headed engine.
Even with the heads and block being relatively cheap, you are still going to be paying pretty big for valvetrain (incl. cam) and for the oiling system. I think they are a dry sump.

Overall, I think the P-body makes a neat race car. The Daytona is probably a more stable choice though. We had a member here by the name of "Mr. P-body". I don't know what ever happened to him. He would be a good source for info should you go with the conversion.

As far as the 3.0 V6 that is in it, there are performance parts available, you just have to know where to look, we are fixing to restore a prototype 1986 Acclaim yes a 1986! Long story on the car, it was accidently released for sale in 1991, they even tried to buy it back, but as far as a V8 in that car, that would be cool!!! But if you are interested in building up that V6 to run like a scalded dog, let us know, we know where to get H beam rods, stroker kits, superchargers!!!, intake spacers, wiseco pistons among other brands, suspension parts, etc. Attached below is some pics in its Mustang and Camaro eating days back in the early 1990's. 1 of 1 painted Nighthawk Blue

It takes a lot of work to convert to rwd. Recommended that if you do it have it professionally built. With a short wheelbase like this you want to make sure everything is top notch. Your car, I believe, would be more on the build style of a Super Gas or Super Comp car.
That car was built by Jim Hale of Van Buren Arkansas. It has a conversion kit to put the V-8 and RWD in it... pretty sure that Hale's people designed the kit and sold it through Mopar. S.E. Buchannon drove this car, as well as the Banning and Slaughter SS/AA 'cuda.
The always called this little car (among themselves) the "pregnant pumpkin". I may be wrong, but I think I remember this car with a 360 in it.

516 WHP on pump gas, no nitrous, the 3.0 V6 still under the hood. I wonder how many of these small blocks in these make more WHP?
