Thanks everybody! That Superstock is sweet.
Here is a picture of the one I hope to get this weekend:

I might drive it for awhile. I worked at a Mopar dealer when these cars where brand new. They where fun to drive back then. This one needs a water pump, windshield and a muffler. I'm not sure how much life the old girl has left in her with 120,000 miles on the clock but, for $200 I can't go wrong. As far as he wheel base goes. My Capri was 100" and the Duster is 97'. 3" is still alot.
Thanks KING

We used to have an 87 Shadow 2 door and the wife used it for a grocery getter. We got it with 30k miles but it had been in a fire. Some guy decided to end it all and lit it up inside his garage and shut the doors. The back end was burned but the ice blue poly color of the car was a pretty dull black when we got it but a good cleaning, a new hatch, rear bumper cover and tire and some paint got it going and looking good again. At one point it ended up being the only decent car we had for a short time. My wife liked it but I'm not a big fan of small cars with no power lol. And they managed to save the guy but he got pretty screwed up from smoke inhalation....

Here it is! We picked it up last weekend. The body had a few more dings them we wanted but you can't complain for what we paid for it. The rug on the roof is glued on and is a custom MOHAWK!
Don't ask! I have no clue what they where thinking. It runs pretty good for the miles it has.

My Dad and I are looking to build something different. We originally where going to do a full tube car but have decided to use the stock front end with some up grades and just back half it. We are going to make it a pro street car and racing it when we can. My Dad brought up the idea of just turning the V6 instead of using a V8. My question is: Is there any good automatic transmissions that will bolt to either a 3.0 or a 3.5 engine? Also any idea what a V8 weighs over a V6?

Thanks for the input so far! This should be a fun build.
Thanks KING

V8 doesn't weigh much more and in pro-street application, it is silly not to upgrade to the small block. You'll have to go RWD to do it affordably and then it is kind of senseless to do the RWD conversion and not even run a V8. The weight gain is certainly worth the base power gain. (you can build it to a lot more power for cheaper)

We just want something different. If it was me I'd go big block. Once I get the engine out to see what I have to work with. I'll decide what to do up front.

There's plenty of ways to be different building a small block that won't cost you extra time and money. Like if you were to build a date-correct 360 4 barrel up to snuff. That'd be pretty cool to have a Duster 360 4 barrel like the '74-'76s.

We are looking at the R5/P7 combo. Parts seen to at a decent price.
I want to stick with what I know but but it won't be Mopar powered!
Thanks Brian

Interesting choice. Should be able to get a whole lotta power from that. I was thinking that is what NASCAR uses.
