    Petty Tribute

All of the trim is on. I bought a 10-circuit wiring harness to replace the 60-year-old stock wiring. I also bought a Competition Engineering aluminum dash to give it that NASCAR look, and a plasma cutter to more easily trim to correct fit. Iíve not yet decided on the gauges, but have bought the switches. The motor is ready and a Passion Performance Hemi 4-speed overdrive transmission ought to be here in another week or so. I found some rattle can blue-green that comes close to matching the vinyl of the seat tops, and Iíll remove and spray the metal interior trim soon. Iíve made a decision on the wheels Ė but not yet ordered them. This is a car that will stay on the lift of the stacker, and go to the races with me for off track duty.

An aluminum dash has been cut and test fitted into the car. It will get pulled back out and filled with gauges and switches.
The blue-green color is a protective cover that will get removed t the very end.

Bought a sheet of .050 aluminum and some side pieces were dabbed up to tie the dash into the side of the car, then the dash was pulled out. I ordered gauges and a Marine Stereo, where only the head - which looks like a gauge will be in the dash.

The heater box is about to come out and a clean up of both sides of the firewall and an aluminum cover installed. You can see the steering column mount that was fabricated.

All of the interior metal trim was removed, and I'll clean, scuff and paint to match interior.

The new wiring kit is going in.

Removed the interior window trim and hit with a couple of coats of paint that matches interior.
