I had always wanted to ride on a combine. Last fall the man who farms the land around our one-acre homestead accommodated me. As the huge combine cut its way through the rows, what was left of the stalks and husks littered the field. Corn filled the hopper behind us. The waste saturated the air around the combine, only to dissipate like morning fog. “Chaff that the wind blows away,” I, the former city slicker, mused aloud. “Red dog.” “What?”

“I call it ‘red dog,’” the farmer said. “That’s what the ‘chaff’ of corn is.” As I looked at the corn dust swirling around my neighbor and me that day, I saw its reddish glint. As Jeremiah preached to the farming community of his day, he spoke of God’s true words as grain. But he told his hearers to beware of the “lying prophets, who prophesy the delusions of their own minds” (v. 26). Their words were chaff—maize’s red dog. Can I distinguish between God’s truth and man’s error? Am I careful to examine all things in the light of Scripture?

Thank You, Lord, for the Bible. Thank You that it doesn’t just contain truth, but is truth. Thank You, as well, for those who teach your Word truly and truthfully. In Jesus who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, I pray. Amen."

We're about to the point of ordering one for the Scamp, which will only be for drag racing only.
We've got the springs moved in, the 8.75 narrowed, spool, gears, Mosers, etc, full 4130 cage, new Indy engine, and a Cope trans.
Time to start bolting it all up and seeing what happens....

God Said So!!

What should we do when we face Satan’s lies, especially the lie that God’s Word cannot be true? Jesus was faced with a legitimate need—the need to eat to sustain Himself. His need wasn’t wrong. Jesus had the power to do what was suggested, but to do it at the demand of Satan would have been satisfying Himself apart from God.

What proceeds out of God’s mouth must be our foundation for everything. It must be the foundation for counseling, for work, for our families, and for our finances. God has given us His definitive Word, and His Word addresses everything that is relevant to us today. Christians who do not believe His Word and obey it do not see His power demonstrated today. God does not want us to pay homage to Him; He wants us to believe Him and act on faith. Faith believes God in the absence of empirical evidence.

In the Garden of Eden, Eve stumbled over this type of faith. She failed the test because she did not believe something she had never seen—death. When it’s difficult to believe God but we place our faith in Him anyway, that’s faith.

Faith is believing something is so, even when it is not visibly so, that it might be so simply because God said so. :angel:
