Yeah, EDM machining is pretty cool stuff. For instance, the blades in a turbine engine are EDM'd.....

Electric discharge machining- the real question her is how big/fast is the cam in question and what is the intended use/ rpm band.....while we are on the subject , in most cases you are going to want a hole .010-.020.....there is some pressure loss and the bigger the hole , the higher the loss....again if you are going to use them, make sure the lifters match the cam- different size holes can vary the crown on the lifter, and an improper match can be disaster...

Hughes recomended there own when I got a suggestion for the cam. I like what fugly said,cheap insurance. I guess I will follow his suggestion and get the hughes lifters.

Lifters is one area you don't want to skimp out on... spend your money on quality lifters, rockers, and pushrods. Save your money elsewhere.

I got the Howards Cam 91718 for my 418 stroker. They have an EDM hole .021 in diameter in the face.
