Default stock valve cover clearance?

Will a set of 1.5 rockers fit under a set of stock valve covers?

Not knowing what you have it will be a tough call but they worked fin in a stock 273. But the more lift you give the cam the less clearance you will have. Untill you get to using a fair lift cam I would say you will have no problem especially if using the stock type doctile iron rockers. PRollers will be another story and not really a + anyway till you start getting into big cams with a lot of spring pressure. Roller rockers are not a power adder.

I always leave something out! 440 with a.580 lift solid cam and I want to put the stock covers on with a set of 1.5 roller rockers and then add the "Ramcharger Stage III" decals to them and give it the "Max Wedge" look. I am guessing that they wont but someone may have a few tricks to help me achieve my goal.

I have my doubts if they will work well, they will be especially close to the baffle even if they clear elsewhere. I have glued to of the heavy cork gaskets together and it has worked.

I have stock valve covers on mine. I had to drilll the baffels to clear the adjusters. What I did was to install the covers and rotated the engine and found where the rocker adjusters hit the cover and drilled a 5/8" hole where they hit. Covers have been off and on a few times and are still good to go.

The engine with the covers on;

The engine without the covers; By the way mine are 1.6 rockers.
