Default Storm Victim

Damon and Slim only made it to Jackson, TN last night and the storm hit them bad. A sink hole swallowed Slims new Dually and it is totalled with mud to the dash. Fugly was saved but the trailer is questionable. I think we'll be dropping this rig (3 hours from home now) and turning around with a truck and trailer to go get them.

They were in Motel room when it happened. No one was hurt. Were still figuring out the best plan. Most roads up there are still closed. I think Dallas and have to come up from LA & MS to Nashville and then back roads down to Nashville. We plan to turn right around as soon as we can drop off this rig, get the toolbox out of my truck to have room for Slims tool boxes and comressor, and get the trailer from Beasley.*

Wow! It's bad around Nashville. I-65 is closed just south of Nashville due to flooding. I never remember that happening.

We drove until 1am and spent the night in Walmart parking lot in West Little Rock. The storm got too bad for us to go futher. It rained hard from West Mephis and I didn't want to chance it any futher. I'm glad we did press on as far as we did or we might also be in trouble. I wonder how many racers got on trouble? We didn't pull out until 5:30pm and about the last to go.

We are stuck till Monday, spotty internet and phone- they say more rain on the way- Slim's truck is totaled- water over the dash, Trailer had water up to the top of the tool box, Fugly had water 1inch over the floor- the good news is no water in the engine, pushed it out of the trailer with some help of some guys that happened to be here from FT Worth, started it and drove out of the way- disconnedted the trailer and drug it backwards with chains, reloaded the car and the FW crew moved the trailer to the back .....here's a couple pics when the water started receding- it was up over the bed on Slim's truck to start with....
