Here's how to visualize it. I posted this video in someone else's thread but I wanted this to have its own thread so it's more easily findable.
YouTube - Firing order of Chrysler (Mopar) V8 engines!

One benefit of stock intakes. They tell you EVERYTHING. So if you are in the position to use a stock intake and don't care about the weight or maybe the bit of HP you give up, it is nice to have it on at least 1 that you own and real nice on a street car.
They have #ing, distributor turning direction, as well as firing order.
That's how I visualize it, I go ask one of my stock intakes.

Go watch the video and you won't ever have to consult your stock intakes again. :-)

I think if I were new at this and didn't quite get the picture, this video would confuse the shyte out of me.
It might be helpful in the video to indicate which end is the front - as the visualization goes, most people look at their engines from that angle as opposed to above and behind. And I might keep the cyl numbers on there with the firing order number in a different size, color, and font to differentiate it. Just so there's no confusion between the two - for someone who doesn't know anything the 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8 method of explaining it might make it more confusing when you're talking about 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 on cylinders configured 1-3-5-7 and 2-4-6-8!!
At least it would for me! That's all I'm sayin'! Though the music might make me start to bob my head a little and end up doing a funny dance.

LOL! Well, dang! I guess the point of the video is that I'm trying to make you know what the firing order is without memorizing any numbers at all. Yeah you have a point - I didn't show which end of the video is the front of the car (the top). Hmm. I'm actually thinking of a different approach now...

I do look at it from above and behind at times. Straight through below the hood. But it is probably a bit confusing. Maybe a pic of a stock intake is all that is needed.
