It would be kind of fun to build a from scratch P-7 headed engine.
Even with the heads and block being relatively cheap, you are still going to be paying pretty big for valvetrain (incl. cam) and for the oiling system. I think they are a dry sump.

Overall, I think the P-body makes a neat race car. The Daytona is probably a more stable choice though. We had a member here by the name of "Mr. P-body". I don't know what ever happened to him. He would be a good source for info should you go with the conversion.
